Bring the actual book
Import EPUB, TXT, JSON, or a DuskTranslate backup. Start an empty web novel project and paste or import chapters as they arrive.
STORIES, ACROSS LANGUAGES
DuskTranslate brings AI-powered machine translation, editing, terminology, team review, and reading into one browser-based suite for novels. Japanese-to-English work remains its specialty, with translation between English and Vietnamese, Russian, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Korean, and Simplified Chinese.
WHY DUSKTRANSLATE
A novel project has chapters, recurring names, house terminology, revisions, unfinished passages, and a final book to assemble. DuskTranslate keeps those pieces together instead of treating every request as an isolated chat.
Import EPUB, TXT, JSON, or a DuskTranslate backup. Start an empty web novel project and paste or import chapters as they arrive.
Compare source and translation side by side, edit the result directly, preserve partial work, and resume from your library.
Maintain names and preferred terms in a project glossary. Use selectable Japanese source text with Yomitan for closer reading.
Read the source or translation in the built-in reader, then export completed work as TXT or rebuild it as an EPUB.
The primary route is Japanese to English. Japanese and English can also be translated into Vietnamese, Russian, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Korean, and Simplified Chinese. Each of those eight languages can also be translated back into English.

Use your own key from Google AI Studio, OpenRouter, OpenAI, Claude, or a compatible OpenAI-style endpoint. Provider keys stay in the editor session by default. On a trusted personal device, you can explicitly remember the key and URL for 30 days.
DuskTranslate supplies a translation-focused prompt, but the translation remains editable. Replace the master prompt and carry shared or personal instructions into the project.
All current app features are free. Optional donations help cover hosting and development; payment setup is coming soon. Your AI provider may charge for API usage. Cloud capacity is limited to 200 projects, 5 GB, and 10 people per project, while local projects remain on your device.
Save projects locally without an account or sign in for a private cloud library. Team projects can assign Translators, Proof-readers, Quality Checkers, and a Lead, then move chapter submissions through revision and approval before publishing the final version.
Open the local library, import a book, and test the workflow without creating an account. When you want cross-session cloud projects or collaboration, sign in and choose the storage that fits the project.
